The impact on computers on the printing industry has been enormous. Modern high-speed copiers produce fully-finished documents with the push of a button. The latest generation of color copiers make full-color printing of small quantities an affordable reality. Modern desktop publishing software has made typesetting, layout and design infinitely faster and cheaper. And, the internet makes ordering jobs, transferring files, and receiving proofs a matter of mouse clicks, not car trips.

File Output

With today's near-universal use of computers, more and more people are handling the design of their documents themselves. With that in mind, we accept files from most commons software programs, including office applications like the ubiquitous Microsoft Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.

We have you professional designers covered, too. We can accept your InDesign or Quark layouts (or Illustrator drawings, or Photoshop files...we're not particular), and we'll work with you to handle any issues related to getting them into production.

Once we have your file, we can print the job to our high-end document printer or our color copier, or we can generate plates for traditional offset printing, whichever is more efficient. We're the perfect mini-service bureau for small organizations on a tight budget!

Of course, you'll want to see the job before we run it, and we can deliver a proof in number of ways. Faxing is fast and simple, but we can also e-mail you a PDF, or output hard copy for you to view at our shop.

And feel free to send us your file even if you just want a price quote on printing it. Having the actual file helps us estimate the cost more accurately.

Scanning

Whether you need a few dozen photos to put on your website or a favorite snapshot you want enlarged, we can help! Just bring us your photos in and we can scan them, print them out, or burn them to a CD. We'll convert them to whatever size and format you specify. Of course, if we're designing a job for you, we'll scan and place all the necessary images.

We can also scan single or multiple-page documents to PDF, if that's what you need, and burn them to a CD. And with our Wide Format copier, we can scan maps, blueprints or other documents up to 3 feet wide.

PDFs

In addition to scanning hard copy to PDF files (see above), many people don't realize they can generate PDF files from almost any software application. Unfortunately, while the software to read PDFs is free, you must own the full version of Adobe Acrobat® to create them (unless you're on a Mac). As an additional service to our customers, we can convert your file to a PDF upon request.

Typesetting

Not a do-it-yourselfer? That's understandable! Many smaller organizations just need basic stationery or a few simple forms. We can set up your business cards, letterheads, and business envelopes for you at an affordable price. We can also create invitations, menus, postcards, invoices, brochures, door hangers, notepads, or anything else you might need...just ask!

When we set a job, we'll deliver a proof via fax, e-mail or hard copy, per your preference, then revise it according to your instructions or print it, if it meets with your approval.

Any artwork we set up is kept on file for ten years, making reorders a snap. (Exception: items related to one-time events, such as graduations, weddings or funerals, are deleted shortly after the event.)

Design

When you need to dress it up a bit, either for a special occassion or to catch your customer's eye, we can help! In addition to simple typesetting, we can design whatever you need in-house.

We can design one-color, two-color, or full-color jobs, according to your budget. We'll work closely with you during the proofing stage, making revisions until it's just what you want. Then we'll produce the job in the most efficient manner possible.

And, artwork we create for you is considered your property. We're happy to send your logo, photo scans or other artwork to your web designer, T-shirt printer or sign shop.
